The door opening on the Access 7832 Insulated Fire Rated Vault Door is normally 5″ thick with a clear opening of 78″ high by 32″ wide. It is designed for 8″ wall thickness but is adaptable to walls 8″ to 18″. The door is locked with 10 – 1″ stainless steel bolts, located five on each side of the door. This helps to prevent pry attacks on the door. When the door is closed, a detent holds the bolts back when open and locks when closed. The standard door with a 2-hour fire rating weighs 735 pounds. The 4-hour fire rating weighs 990 pounds, and the 6-hour fire rating is 1,255 pounds.
The Access 7832 Insulated Fire Rated Vault Door is an outward swing door and is available with left or right-hand hinges. Remember that the left-hand swing means the hinges are on the left-hand side, and the right-hand swing means the hinges are on the right-hand side. Fire Rating:
The Access Vault Doors have 2, 4, or 6 hours. They are designed to maintain an internal temperature within the vault chamber of less than 350 degrees F; in a fire not to exceed 2,000 degrees F as defined in the Standard Time Temperature Fire Test, as defined in the National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 232 “Protection of Records.” The vault door can also withstand the hose stream test after fire exposure.
